Mjolnir v0.2.0: The Dual-Screen Home Launcher
This release introduces the core feature of Mjolnir: the Dual-Screen Home Launcher. Mjolnir can now be set as your default home screen, allowing you to launch two different apps simultaneously—one on the top screen and one on the bottom—every time you press the Home button.
✨ Key Feature: Dual-Screen Home Launcher
Transform your device's home experience by launching two apps at once. Perfect for multitasking, gaming, or creating custom workflows on dual-screen devices like the AYN Thor.
Workaround for AYN Thor App Switcher Bug
A known firmware bug on the AYN Thor can break the Recents/App Switcher screen when using a third-party launcher. Mjolnir v0.2.0 provides a robust workaround to ensure you retain full system functionality.
How to enable the workaround:
- Add Quick Tile: Add the "Mjolnir Home" tile to your Quick Settings panel.
- Enable Service: Tap the tile to open Accessibility settings and enable the "Mjolnir" service.
- Toggle Functionality:
- Tile ON: Mjolnir's dual-launch function is active. QuickStep MUST be set as the default launcher, and this tile will intercept home button presses..
- Tile OFF: Your default launcher (e.g., QuickStep) will handle the Home button press as usual.
This workaround will not be needed once AYN fixes the App Switcher bug in a future OTA update.
Known Issues
- AYN Button Conflict: After opening the TCC panel with the AYN button, the button may not close it. Pressing Home twice will close the panel and restore the AYN button's function.
🛠️ Additional Tools: Steam File Generator
Mjolnir still includes the powerful Steam File Generator tool to help you add PC games to your Android frontends (like ES-DE and Beacon).
- Automated File Creation: Quickly generates
.steamfiles from a Steam AppID. - Multiple Input Methods: Create files by sharing a
steamdb.infoURL to Mjolnir or by manually entering the AppID. - File Management: Lists existing files, provides overwrite protection, and supports multi-select deletion.
Thank you for using Mjolnir!
