ProsperoEden v1.000.080

pre-release5 hours ago

Note

This is a pre-release. Use ShadowMountPlus 1.7beta4 or newer: it mounts ProsperoEden from where you copy it and gives it its data and your game files with nothing else to load. Updates from the menu need your jailbreak environment's ELF loader on TCP port 9021.

ProsperoEden 1.000.080 makes games that use a single sideways Joy-Con comfortable to play, shows what is new before an update, and can be started straight into a game.

New

  • Single Joy-Con games with the DualSense held as usual. Games that take only single Joy-Cons have them held sideways. Until now the DualSense had to be turned sideways too for the directions to make sense, and in that grip Touchpad + L1 (end the game) was easy to press by accident. Now you hold the DualSense as usual: the stick (either one), the four buttons and the motion sensors are turned to match, for each player. L1 and R1 stay SL and SR.
  • What's new in the update dialog. When an update is offered, What's new opens that release's notes, so you can read them before choosing Update now or Skip.
  • Start a game directly (for forwarders). ProsperoEden takes --rom <file> and --exit-after-game as launch arguments, so a home screen forwarder can open one game and return to the home screen when it ends. See docs/FORWARDER.md. Contributed by MartinPham.

Bug fixes and improvements

  • Filesystem access on firmware 13.60. The bundled helper is updated with a fix for that firmware.
  • "Can't start the game or app" (CE-107750-0) after unpacking the ZIP. The release ZIP's files are now stored open to all, as the console wants an app's files. Unpacked by a tool that keeps permissions (on the console, or copied from a Mac or Linux PC), they could be left closed and the app would not start.

Upgrading

If 1.000.060 or 1.000.070 is installed, it offers this update from its menu once homebrew.page lists 1.000.080. Otherwise copy the PPSA99008 folder from the ZIP over the one you have, wherever it is (for example /data/homebrew/PPSA99008 or /mnt/usb0/homebrew/PPSA99008). Your saves, settings and profiles stay where they are.

If you turned the DualSense sideways for single Joy-Con games, hold it as usual from now on.

Thanks

Thank you to MartinPham for the forwarder arguments, to the players who reported the sideways Joy-Con problem, to Jones, Phronesis, szampan, BunkinBacon and Cold for testing, and to everyone who reports what they find.
