Warning
This is a pre-release. ProsperoEden includes an exact-title one-shot helper built from upstream
PS5-Lapy-JB-Daemon. Your jailbreak environment
must provide a local ELF loader on TCP port 9021. No separate Lapy payload is required for normal use.
The helper passed automated launch/elevate/close cycles on firmware 6.02 and 12.70; other firmware
remains experimental and should be tested cautiously.
ProsperoEden 1.000.060 installs its own updates from the menu, and brings the Lapy elevation helper inside the app, so nothing else needs to be loaded first.
New features
- Updates from the menu. When a newer release is listed on homebrew.page, ProsperoEden offers it each time it opens, with its version and download size.
- Update now downloads the release ZIP from GitHub, checks it against the SHA-256 in homebrew.page's signed catalog, and unpacks it beside the app, with a progress ring, the time left and Circle to cancel. ProsperoEden then closes, the update helper replaces the app's files, and the console shows a notification. Open ProsperoEden again to use the new version.
- Skip keeps the version you have; the offer comes back the next time ProsperoEden opens.
- Your saves, settings and game files are kept, and so are files of your own in the app folder (such as
language.txt, or theassets/folder of earlier versions). - The update needs the same local ELF loader on port 9021. If something goes wrong, the dialog says why and nothing is changed.
- Lapy elevation included. ProsperoEden carries its own one-shot helper built from upstream Lapy. If a resident Lapy service is already running, it is used first; otherwise ProsperoEden sends its helper over the local ELF loader. Loading Lapy separately is no longer needed.
Bug fixes and improvements
- The elevation helper no longer crashes when ProsperoEden starts. Earlier builds of the included helper crashed at every start before ProsperoEden got its filesystem access. Its start-up now runs on one thread, and it is built from a corrected upstream release.
Upgrading
Copy the PPSA99008 folder from the ZIP over /data/homebrew/PPSA99008, as before. Your saves, settings and profiles stay where they are. From this version on, later releases can be installed from the menu.
The update offer appears once a release newer than the one you run is listed on homebrew.page, so 1.000.060 itself does not offer anything until the next release.
Thanks
Thank you to Jones, Phronesis, szampan, BunkinBacon and Cold for testing, and to everyone who reports what they find.
