Wallet Features:
- Learn to use the wallet with the preloaded Test Account.
The Test Account comes preloaded with 10,000 test-sats. T-sats do not have any
monetary value. They were created for Bitcoiners to test various features as they
build the Bitcoin ecosystem. T-sats allow you to familiarize yourself with the wallet.
You would easily be able to learn how to send and receive real sats using the Test
Account. You can send t-sats to any other wallet that supports sending and
receiving t-sats. - Part of wallet setup (which takes less than 2 minutes) is the first level of backup
called Automated Cloud Backup. This ensures that users don’t lose their wallet due
to loss of phone. A user can easily re-create their wallet on another phone with
Automated Cloud Backup. This is the first level of the wallet’s security mechanism.
When a new wallet is installed, the user is asked to back it up on their cloud
storage. We’ve created this system keeping in mind the feedback we received from
new users who were starting to dabble in Bitcoin. Level 1 backup entirely does away
with any effort on the users’ part to back up the wallet. All they have to do is allow
Hexa to backup the wallet on their cloud. - Double backup, the second level of the wallet backup, uses a mechanism wherein
a user can share 2 Recovery Keys. 1 Recovery Key is shared with a trustworthy
contact person also running Hexa while the other is stored on another phone, also
running Hexa. A user is encouraged to upgrade to Level 2 when they have a decent
amount of sats in their wallet. A simple definition of “decent” being an amount that
users do not mind losing but still wouldn’t want to. - The highest level of security currently is the Multi-Key Backup. This level requires
a user to share two more Recovery Keys. Any 3 of the 5 Keys could be used to
recover a wallet. We recommend Level 3 backup to people who have a significant
amount of sats in the wallet. “Significant” again is self-defined, of course. Still, to
give an arbitrary ballpark, it could be a year’s worth of salary! - Hexa has multiple accounts for different purposes. The Checking Account is for
small transactions. The Savings Account (technically called a multisig account) uses
2FA and unlocks at Level 2 Backup, for long term hodling. The Swan Account is an
auto-withdrawal account for automatic periodic sats purchase. You can create as
many accounts (of different types) as need be. - A special account is the Donation Account that allows you to raise funds in bitcoin
from around the world. Here’s the low-down on everything to do with the Donation
Account. - We continue to add exchanges for you to get bitcoin. The latest addition is Swan
Bitcoin. - Another key feature of the wallet is the ability to batch send sats. You can send
sats to friends and family, organizations you wish to pay or support, etc. Batch
sending allows you to send sats, while you save on transaction fees. - Hexa is now available in multiple languages. Localization is still in beta and we’ll
continue to improve upon it.
