github bisand/node-red-contrib-tibber-api v7.0.0

Breaking changes

  • The nodes report an error when a call to Tibber fails, for example with an invalid access token. Use a Catch node to handle it. Earlier versions sent an empty result or the error object as msg.payload (#130).
  • tibber-feed reconnects by itself with an increasing delay, as Tibber requires. The Reconnect delay setting is removed. If Tibber rejects the access token, the feed stops and the status shows invalid token (#130).
  • getConsumption without a home ID returns one flat list with homeId on each record, instead of one list per home (#130).

Existing flows and saved access tokens keep working without changes.

What's new

  • Log in with client ID and secret (#131): the tibber-api-endpoint config node has a second authentication method next to the access token. Create an OAuth client at data-api.tibber.com, enter its ID and secret, and click Log in to Tibber. It works with all nodes and is the default for new configurations. The README explains the Redirect URI, including how to log in when Node-RED is opened through an address Tibber does not accept.
  • Tibber Data API nodes (#131): tibber-data-api queries homes, devices, device state and device history for vehicles, chargers, thermostats, heat pumps, inverters and batteries. tibber-data-api-feed streams live measurements from Tibber Pulse and Watty. Both need a configuration that logs in with client ID and secret.
  • More queries in tibber-data (#130): getEnergyPriceRange for historical prices, getProduction, getConsumptionPage and getProductionPage, with paging from the message (first, last, before, after, filterEmptyNodes).
  • Reactive power in tibber-feed (#130).
  • Help text for every node in the editor, and short palette labels that no longer wrap.

Fixes

  • tibber-feed no longer writes the access token to the log (#130).
  • The access token is stored as a password and is no longer sent back to the editor (#130).
  • tibber-notify sends the title and message as variables, so quotes and line breaks no longer break the notification (#130).
  • tibber-data and tibber-notify no longer throw when msg.payload is missing (#130).
  • A token injected into one tibber-feed node no longer changes the token used by other nodes on the same configuration (#130).
  • Nodes sharing a feed keep receiving data when the first of them is removed (#131).
  • The Request Timeout setting is used by all nodes, not only the feed (#130).
  • tibber-data is no longer marked invalid without a home ID (#130).

Maintenance

  • Built on tibber-api 6.0.0, still the only runtime dependency.
  • Requires Node-RED 2.0 or newer and Node.js 18 or newer. Tested with Node-RED 2.2, 3.1, 4.1 and 5.0, and on Node.js 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26.
  • The npm package only contains the nodes and the examples.
