GalaxyQuest 0.1.8

GalaxyQuest 0.1.8 adds a Windows installer that handles disc extraction, conversion, app installation and copying the game files to your headset in one window. Quest 2 and Quest 3 are tested and working.

Install on Windows

Download GalaxyQuest-Installer-windows-x86_64.exe, enable developer mode on your headset, connect it with a USB data cable and allow USB debugging. Open the installer, choose your own Super Mario Galaxy disc image or extracted folder, then click Install.

The APK, Python, DolphinTool and Android platform-tools are included. Movies are included by default. Allow about 16 GB free on the computer (10 GB for an extracted disc) and 7 GB on the headset.

Gameplay fixes since 0.1.6

  • Hold A to keep Boo Mario floating upward.
  • Beach Bowl's gravity puzzle room keeps its ripple effect without gaps in the walls and floor at higher rendering resolutions.
  • Corrected EU/US dialogue branches and story flags so Mailtoad can deliver Peach and Luigi letters.
  • Corrected the moving crystal cage's joint lookup.

Manual installation and updates

GalaxyQuest.apk and GalaxyQuest-converter.zip remain available for installation without the Windows installer, including on macOS and Linux. The README includes both methods.

To update an existing installation, install the new APK over the old one using the README's manual app-install step. Saves and settings are preserved; existing converted game files do not need to be converted again.

You need your own Super Mario Galaxy disc. These downloads contain no Nintendo game data. Dolphin-2609-source.tar.gz is the matching source companion for the installer's DolphinTool; players do not need it. SHA256SUMS.txt provides checksums for the release downloads.
