This update only affects Randomizer mode, which needed some tweaks and balancing.
Fewer Legendaries and overpowered moves
Many of you told us that Legendaries and very strong moves showed up way too often in Randomizer and you were right.
- Legendary Pokémon now appear about half as often (around 1 in 27 Pokémon instead of 1 in 13).
- Pokémon with many forms (Arceus, Silvally, Pikachu, Vivillon, the Flabébé family and Legendaries with several forms) now count as a single Pokémon in the draw. All their forms can still show up, they just don't flood the game anymore.
- Strong moves (100+ power, one-hit KO moves, Dark Void, Geomancy) are now rarer at low level, and become as common as any other move from level 40.
- Early-game Pokémon can still get a strong move, just less often (about 1 in 6 Pokémon at level 5 instead of 2 in 5).
Trainers keep their builds
- Randomized trainer Pokémon now keep their EVs, IVs, nature and held item instead of losing them.
- Builds adapt to the new Pokémon: if a physical attacker is replaced by a special one, its Attack and Sp. Atk investment and nature are swapped (Adamant becomes Modest...).
- Held items adapt too: Gems, Plates and type-boosting items match the new Pokémon's best move, Choice Band and Choice Specs follow its attacking side, and items that would be useless or harmful are replaced (Assault Vest with status moves, Eviolite on a fully evolved Pokémon, Flame Orb without Guts, Black Sludge on a non-Poison type, unusable Mega Stones…).
Note: if you are playing a Seeded Randomizer run, the Pokémon you already own don't change, but upcoming wild Pokémon, trainers and evolutions may differ from before the update.
