The mod now tells you what's wrong on your own machine.
Several people reported the same thing: "it enters VR, but once inside the game it never does".
On the author's machine it works. Without being able to look at your PC, that could not be
answered — so this version is about answering it.
New
MaxPayne2VR-informe.txt— the mod writes it next to the game. About 35 lines that
start by saying, in one sentence, what is wrong with your install. Paste it into an issue
and it answers almost everything on its own.- It checks your game files. The mod finds where to hook by searching byte patterns inside
the engine DLLs. With a different version of the game those patterns aren't there, the hooks
don't install, and the result is exactly that symptom: the headset works in the menu and stays
flat in-game. The report now says so, by name. - Issue template that asks for the report before you send.
About your privacy
The report does not contain your Windows username. Paths are trimmed on purpose, because this
is meant to be pasted in public.
Performance
Nothing runs per frame. Five game files are hashed once at startup, and a 2 KB file is
rewritten at most every 10 seconds. You can turn it off with informe_de_diagnostico = 0.
Still the same
This release diagnoses, it does not fix. If your game files turn out to be a different version,
you will still see it flat — but now you'll know why, and so will I. Open an issue with the report
and we can decide whether to add support for your version.
No cuesta rendimiento. Y ojo: diagnostica,
no arregla — si tu versión del juego es otra, seguirás viéndolo plano, pero ya sabremos por qué.
