Find Steam matches and run the plugin backend in Rust
Added
- Added Steam search to the per-game editor. Compare results using real artwork,
developer names, and release dates where available, then select Use this
Steam match to save the match. Browsing and cancelling do not change saved
metadata, and Cancel returns controller focus to the selected result. - Manual Steam App ID and page-link entry remain available beside the separate
IGN metadata search. Match confirmation does not rename shortcuts or replace
custom artwork.
Changed
- Replaced the plugin's Python backend with Rust. The same ZIP runs directly on
the beallio Loader fork and uses a small compatibility shim on standard Decky
Loader. Saved metadata, preferences, and shortcut-name restore history stay in place. - Preserved provider-specific request headers. Log viewing retries file setup
if it failed at startup. - The plugin now loads less data when it starts and when you open the Quick Access
panel. A game's Steam news loads when you open that game. - Saving one game's metadata is much faster, also with large libraries. Each
game's metadata is now kept in its own file in ametadatafolder beside the
settings file. The first start after the update moves existing metadata there. - Before the built-in updater installs a different version, the plugin copies
all metadata back into the single settings file, so an older version still
finds it. An older version installed by hand from a ZIP gets no copy and does
not show saved metadata; use the built-in updater to change versions.
Fixed
- Removed metadata stays removed. After Remove metadata, the plugin no
longer matches that game again by itself. Before, the background news refresh
could match the game's title to a Steam game after about 15 minutes, and its
news came back. Opening the game page also no longer fetches IGN metadata for
it, and Refresh metadata skips it. To match the game again, pick a Steam
match or an IGN result in its editor, or use Clear cache. Fix for
issue #3.
