• add project.build.sourceVersion and project.build.targetVersion to set the source and target fields for the compiler. By default use the same value as project.build.targetJdk. There are some corner cases where there compiler plugin will ignore flags (e.g. -parameter) if only the <release> element but not the <source> element is set.
