Packages for Debian 13

Bareos 24.0.4 adds full support for Debian 13.

Renewed FreeBSD builds

Starting with Bareos 24.0.4, the FreeBSD builds will not target minor releases anymore. Instead we will provide packages for each major version tracking the quarterly ports.
If you are currently using repository FreeBSD_14.0, FreeBSD_13.2 or FreeBSD_13.3, you will need to switch to FreeBSD_14 or FreeBSD_13 to upgrade to Bareos 24.0.4 and later.

No limit on number of NDMP incrementals

NDMP historically limited the number of incremental backups to 8. This rather arbitrary limit, which is still present in some modern filers, was enforced by Bareos. Starting with Bareos 24.0.4 there is no limit within Bareos anymore, so you can now take as many incremental backups as your filer supports.

Virtual USB devices on VMWare virtual machines

The VMWare Plugin can now save and recreate virtual machines with VirtualUSB devices.

Bugfix: dplcompat Device Options

When specifying numeric options in dplcompat's Device Options directive, the usually supported size suffixes (MB, GB, etc) were not supported. Additionally trailing characters were ignored. This could lead to situations where the effective configuration differed from what was in the configuration file. Bareos 24.0.4 and later will support all usual size suffixes on the chunksize parameter and will detect any trailing non-whitespace characters on numeric option values and report these as ill-formed.
