I'm excited to share with you the first official alpha release of Briefbox, a project that marks not just the beginning of a new tool but the realization of a dream I've had for a long time. Building my first full web application.
Briefbox is the first step on this journey, aiming to become a beautiful and practical self-hosted email archiving solution. As Briefbox evolves, I hope to expand its capabilities in line with the needs and feedback of its users. I invite everyone who shares this interest to join me in developing Briefbox. The latest builds are now available for testing.
Alpha Release Highlights
Frontend Port Update: In this release, I've moved the web interface from port 5000 to port 3000 and built the base for the new react based frontend.
Future Enhancements
Looking ahead, I have several enhancements in mind for Briefbox. These include adding email export functionality, implementing OAuth2 authentication for Gmail and Outlook, including search capabilities with advanced options, and overall enhancements to the user interface and user experience.
Your feedback is incredibly important as it will help shape the future of Briefbox. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions as we embark on this journey together. Let's create a tool that not only meets our needs but also inspires others in the community.
Thank you for taking the time to explore Briefbox v0.0.1 Alpha, which I admit is still very barebones and rough but hey its a start ;).
