What's New in v0.28.17

A follow-up to 0.28.16: the Inbox now fits iPads and narrow windows, a desktop layout bug from 0.28.16 is fixed, and a Pi crash reported by @vivek-gurung is gone.

iPads and narrow windows

Between a phone and a full desktop window (an iPad held upright, or a browser window around 800 to 1050 pixels wide) an open thread used to be squeezed to about 150 pixels beside the list, with the sender's name running into the time. Now, when the list and a readable thread don't both fit, the thread covers the list with a ‹ Inbox button, the way it does on a phone, and an open decision covers the Decisions list the same way. Keyboard focus moves to ‹ Inbox when the thread opens and back to its row when you return, including when you resize the window across that width. An iPad held sideways keeps the list and the thread side by side, as before. Wide desktop windows are unchanged.

On phones, the file view in landscape is roomier, the Mark read toast is one line, and the smaller controls have 44-pixel tap areas.

The reply bar no longer cuts off "Keep open"

In 0.28.16, a thread with a picked answer and an unanswered question needed a reply bar wider than most windows, so "Keep open" was cut off at 1280 and 1440 pixels. The bar now wraps to a second row when it doesn't fit.

Pi no longer crashes on a decision from a tab left open across /reload

A plan review opened through Pi's plannotator:request event API kept its tab after /reload or a session switch. Approving or denying in that tab called into the replaced session, Pi's stale-context error escaped the request, and Pi exited. Decision listeners now run so a thrown error can't escape, and the event API's emit is guarded. The tab stays usable: its decision is still recorded for review-status, so another extension can pick it up after a restart. The status file is now written atomically and is never wiped if it's unreadable. A plan review opened by plannotator_submit_plan now tells its open tab when the session ends ("Review Closed … your comments are saved") instead of leaving it silently dead.

• Tests can no longer reach your real Inbox. Test and dev-script helpers refuse your real data folder, and test cleanup only stops an Inbox it can prove it started. #1862

Claude Code Plugin: The plugin and the plannotator binary update separately, so run the install script above as well. In a terminal:

claude plugin marketplace update plannotator
claude plugin update plannotator@plannotator

Then restart Claude Code. Inside Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace update plannotator, then open /plugin → Installed → plannotator → Update now.

Pi:

pi update --extensions

OpenCode: Re-run the install script above. It now also clears the OpenCode 2 plugin cache.
