MODIFIED: [GEN] Rebrand of SLM, PLM, and MTM

While the names SLM, PLM, and MTM will stick around for describing the extensions, they also now have more generic names in the web interface and documentation that describe their functionality.

  • On-Demand = SLM
  • Linear = PLM
  • Tools = MTM

This is to reflect both the current and future expansion of the original functionality compared to when these featured launched. Otherwise, this is mostly a cosmetic update. You can read more about it here.

NEW: [SLM] Manage Providers, Subscribed Streaming Services Settings, and Provider Groups

Most of the settings for SLM have been moved underneath the 'On-Demand' header into a new page called 'Manage Providers'. You can read about it on the Wiki here.

As part of this, there is additional functionality that did not exist before. First, you now have 'Subscribed Streaming Services Settings'. Among other features, you can now make a subscribed service 'inactive' with a simple toggle. More details are available here.

In conjunction with this are 'Provider Groups'. This gives you a way to combine various Streaming Providers together into any set you want. How and use cases are discussed here.

NEW: [MTM] Report/Query for 'Last XX Days Original Release Date with Availability'

A set of new reports/queries are available that show you recent releases of bookmarked movies and episodes with their availability on streaming services. This, along with the 'Provider Groups' and the 'Subscribed Streaming Services Settings' give you much more granular control and detail to help you manage content and the services that are hosting them. Details are available here.

MODIFIED: [SLM] Add Programs

'Add Programs' has been revamped in a number of ways. For instance:

  • Single screen for searching/manual add that goes away once reviewing content.
  • Search options have been removed from settings and are all managed here.
  • Search options have been parsed out so that it is clear which area they go with.
  • In 'New & Updated', in combination with new SLM functionality discussed above, can choose to see on 'All Providers', 'Active Providers', 'Inactive Providers', each of the Provider Groups, or each of the subscribed streaming services individually.

For complete details, see here.

Do note that there are also disabled buttons dealing with 'Videos'. This is for forthcoming functionality being developed and can be read about in #37.

MODIFIED: [MTM] Automation and Notifications

In the process step of updating Channels DVR, MTM will now wait for Prune and/or Scan to complete before moving on. This is also an important step of aforementioned functionality that will deal with Videos in the future. As part of this, a number of notifications have been removed and are only log items, making the notifications more streamlined.

MODIFIED: [PLM] 'Main' is now 'Final Playlists', Settings moved to relevant pages

The 'Main' page has been changed into 'Final Playlists' and has had a redesign. As part of that, the settings related to PLM stations and output playlists/guides have been moved to this area. Similarly, those same settings for Streaming Stations have also moved onto that page. You can read about all of this here and here.

NEW: [PLM] Unassigned Stations

'Unassigned Stations' has been moved out into its own page. You can read about that here.

NEW: [PLM] 'Add to Playlists' for uploaded and generated playlists, fixed delete

Just as with the 'Add to Channels DVR' button being available for uploaded and generated playlists, there is now one that will automatically add them to the entered source playlists within PLM. This simplifies the process and makes it so you no longer have to manually copy and paste the link. Read about it in the Manage Playlists wiki page.

Also, while adding this feature, fixed an issue where uploaded files could not be deleted and caused a crash.

MODIFIED: [GEN] Settings and Other

With so many settings moving out of the general area, that page has been re-imagined, most notably now with a section that only deals with 'Extensions and Add-Ons' being turned off and on. There is a lot of detail now within the program, explaining the purpose of each. You can read about those updates here.

Beyond this, there have been a number of minor front and back end updates for quality of life, performance, and ease of use.
