github b00nz/mVolt v0.50.5

v0.50.5 adds CPU and RAM readings to the RTSS overlay, two Flatten above modes for V/F curves and a quicker way to keep profiles up to date, alongside a smoother, fully drawn interface and safer BIOS override recovery.

Profiles

  • Added a header Save button beside Reset all. It stores applied changes in the current profile; under Custom it opens Save current as.
  • The profile selector's dot is now green while the applied settings match the profile, amber after other changes are applied, and grey for Custom.
  • Every profile save now makes the saved profile the current one. Overwrite asks for confirmation first.
  • Added Load for editing to Profile details. It stages the profile's settings for editing without applying them.
  • Renamed the Details checkbox to Apply this profile at logon.

Curves

  • Added two Flatten above modes: Drop tail (default) lowers the later points by one offset so they stay flat, and Match tail gives each point its own offset.
  • Added an info button with a preview of both modes on the current curve, including a warming slider that illustrates how heat can shift each tail.
  • The V/F editor and its preview now shade voltages past the rail's current voltage limit and dim the points there; hovering such a point shows the limit.
  • Points that the driver raises to a lower-voltage point's frequency now appear as hollow dots where they are parked.
  • Fixed other editor buttons flashing and a stray line in the graph after Reset V/F curve.

Telemetry and RTSS

  • Added CPU and Memory overlay groups: CPU load, RAM usage and RAM speed from Windows; CPU effective clock, temperature and power, and DDR5 RAM temperature, through the optional PawnIO driver.
  • The PawnIO driver is installed separately and is not included. The groups show its status and offer Get PawnIO while it is missing; mVolt+ releases it as soon as no PawnIO line is selected.
  • Overlay lines can now be reordered by dragging them in the preview, and recolored by right-clicking.
  • Added XBAR and SYS clock readings to the dashboard header.
  • NVML is now only used while Telemetry or Overview is open, or an overlay GPU-load or power line is selected, reducing background activity.
  • Debug reports now include thermal-limit readings.

BIOS override and recovery

  • Fixed Direct mode on systems with two identical GPUs, where one card's override could appear in the other card's limits.
  • If Windows cannot start the GPU (Code 43) while an override is stored, the startup recovery dialog now offers Restart GPU next to Restart Windows after removing the override.
  • Added Repair permissions for the case where BIOS override's recovery storage cannot be used. GPU settings and recovery files are kept.
  • The first-open note now explains both methods, and that saved limits stay active after restarting Windows until reverted.
  • Input errors now appear below Save limits without moving the buttons. The hover text for an unavailable BIOS file method now names the required driver.

Interface

  • In Standard, each card now keeps Apply beside Reset. Apply stays grey until the card has a change, including after returning to the applied value.
  • The bottom bar shows the latest status beside Review…, wraps long messages, and shows failures in red.
  • Added an About window under Settings → General with the version, project page and third-party notices.
  • Menus, submenus and dropdown lists now open fully drawn, without fade-in, slide or partially painted frames.
  • Moving the highlight in menus and lists updates both rows in one step, including scrolling menus and their scroll arrows.
  • Text-field context menus (Undo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Select all) now use the app's menu style.
  • Short operations no longer briefly grey out the dashboard; the busy look appears only when an operation takes longer than a quarter of a second.
  • Typing in BIOS override fields and enabling or disabling buttons no longer flickers, and its fan dropdowns no longer shrink while open.
  • Tool windows reopen where they were last placed during the session, Settings opens next to the dashboard, and the header profile menu follows the dashboard when it is moved.
  • Explanatory text in Settings, Profile Manager and the V/F editor moved into hover help, and the About window supports keyboard navigation.
