github b00nz/mVolt v0.50.10

A feature and bug-fix release for v0.50.9.

What's new

  • RTSS overlay (#92):
    • Compact rows in the overlay preview groups the readings into rows such as GPU, MEM, FAN, CPU and FPS.
    • Right-click a line or row to Rename it.
    • New Toggle RTSS benchmark shortcut in Settings → Hotkeys. Press it to start a fresh recording of the average FPS and 1% / 0.1% lows, and again to stop. The results stay on the overlay until the next start.
  • 12V-2x6 connector readings: a new 12V-2x6 tab in Telemetry shows each pin of the GPU power connector. It reads a Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro II, an MSI MPG Ai1600TS / Ai1300TS power supply, or the connector sensor of ASUS RTX 50 cards that have one. The overlay can show them too.
  • Startup profile menu: choose the profile applied at logon in Settings → General, beside Start with Windows. The Apply this profile at logon checkbox in Details is gone.
  • Portable mode (#75): an empty portable.txt next to mVolt+.exe keeps settings and profiles in a Data folder beside it. A first start without saved settings asks which you want. BIOS override recovery data goes there too, except on USB sticks and network drives.
  • Uninstall mVolt+ in Settings → General removes BIOS overrides on all GPUs, Start with Windows, and all profiles and settings, and gives the fans back to the card. Then delete mVolt+.exe and restart Windows to finish.
  • Fan curves can follow the hotspot (#93): every mVolt+ fan curve, shared or a fan's own, has a GPU temperature part and a Hotspot part. Switch on either or both; the fans follow whichever asks for more. A Hotspot-only curve hands the fans to the card while there is no hotspot reading, and takes them back when it returns.
  • BIOS override on RTX 30 (experimental): power, NVVDD OCP, voltage limits, clock ranges and fan settings. Board input current and MSVDD OCP aren't available on these cards.
  • Memory junction temperature on RTX 3070 Ti, 3080, 3080 Ti, 3090 and 3090 Ti.
  • RTX 20/30/40: if the usual hotspot reading fails, mVolt+ now tries a second source.
  • Profile Manager: Settings → Appearance → Profile details can open the classic Profile Manager instead of the compact Details.
  • Details now has Profile Manager's buttons: Delete, Preview changes, Load for editing and Apply profile.
  • Details and the Save current as… form can be moved by dragging their background (#90). Several can stay open at once, such as two profiles' Details next to the save form. They open on the main window again next time.
  • Load for editing (the pen) is always in the Profiles menu.

Fixes

  • Multiple GPUs (#82): each GPU now applies its own startup profile at logon. Before, only one GPU's profile applied.
  • A Core clock offset applied at logon no longer does nothing after some Windows starts. Before, only Reset all and Apply fixed it.
  • Laptops (#85, #91): a power cap in the startup profile no longer fails the logon when the laptop changes the GPU power request during the write. mVolt+ keeps the laptop's value and shows a warning; apply the profile again to restore yours.
  • BIOS override (RTX 40): changing REL now takes effect on cards whose BIOS uses one fixed REL value, such as the RTX 4090, 4080 and 4070 Ti. A REL saved with v0.50.9 or older still does nothing until you save a different value.
  • BIOS override: after a failed GPU restart, Restart GPU no longer stays busy. mVolt+ also says when Windows couldn't start the GPU (Code 43).

Known limitations

  • Once a saved profile's fan curve uses the Hotspot part, v0.50.9 or older can't open that GPU's profiles.
  • If a 12V-2x6 device isn't found or shows wrong values, please open an issue.
  • Copying, zipping or deleting a portable folder that holds BIOS override data asks for administrator permission. Use Uninstall mVolt+ to remove it.
  • Uninstall mVolt+ can't remove a BIOS override from a GPU that isn't connected, such as an unplugged eGPU. Remove that override first.
