MEGA Native API - Zero-Dependency Cloud Encryption
Full native MEGA protocol implementation eliminating the MEGAcmd external dependency. Users can now connect to MEGA directly from AeroFTP without installing any additional software.
Added
- MEGA Native API provider: Complete JSON-RPC implementation connecting directly to MEGA servers. No external software required
- MEGA dual-backend: Users choose between Native API (recommended) or MEGAcmd (legacy) in the connection form, with mode-specific badges in session tabs and saved servers
- MEGA client-side encryption: AES-128-CTR file encryption/decryption, PBKDF2-SHA512 key derivation (v2), AES-ECB master key management, RSA session authentication (csid path) - all performed locally
- MEGA v1 authentication: Legacy account support via 65536-round AES-ECB key derivation
- MEGA native file operations: list, upload, download, mkdir, delete, rename, move - all via encrypted API without subprocess overhead
- MEGA native trash management: Soft delete (move to rubbish bin), list trash, restore from trash, permanent delete - all via native API
- MEGA native share links: Export files/folders with encrypted key URL via MEGA
lcommand - MEGA native storage quota: Real-time used/total/free display via
uqcommand - MEGA session persistence: Encrypted session keys stored in OS keyring, automatic resume on reconnect (saves ~3s per connection)
- MEGA node tree caching: Full filesystem tree fetched once and cached in memory with parent-children index for O(1) lookups
Fixed
- MEGA Windows console flash: MEGAcmd operations no longer flash a cmd.exe window on every command (CREATE_NO_WINDOW flag)
- MEGA Windows login: Password passed as CLI argument on Windows where .bat wrappers don't forward stdin
- MEGA delete behavior: Both providers now soft-delete to trash instead of permanent deletion, matching MEGA web client behavior
- Session options on quick-connect: All provider options (mega_mode, save_session, GitHub auth mode, SFTP keys) now preserved in session state. Previously only S3 options were kept
- logout_on_disconnect pipeline: Option now properly transmitted from frontend through backend to provider disconnect handler
- MegaConnectionMode enum default: Rust derive default aligned with parsing default (MegaCmd for legacy profiles)
- save_session backend default: Changed from false to true, matching the frontend UI default
- HTTP 402 handling: MEGA API 402 responses now correctly classified as authentication failures for graceful session resume
- Trash date formatting: All 11 trash managers now use
formatDate()for consistent human-readable timestamps
Changed
- MEGA badge colors: Native API badge is blue, MEGAcmd badge is red (MEGA brand color)
Documentation
- APPENDIX-N complete: 7 documents (N1-N7) covering architecture, protocol, execution plan, audit, implementation handoff, end-to-end review, and remediation certification
- 21 unit tests: Crypto primitives, base64, KDF, AES-ECB/CBC/CTR roundtrips, chunk boundaries, MPI encoding, node attributes
- Live integration tests: Full CRUD cycle verified against real MEGA account via CLI
