Mountpoint for Amazon S3 CSI Driver v2

New features

• Mountpoint Pods will be shared between multiple workload Pods if they’re using the same volume and credentials. See Mountpoint Pod Sharing documentation for more details.
• The CSI Driver will support SELinux enabled hosts
• The CSI Driver will support running on ROSA
• The CSI Driver will support getting AWS credentials using EKS Pod Identity
• The CSI Driver won’t consume systemd resources
• The CSI Driver will support using emptyDir and ephemeral volumes as local caches. See caching configuration for more details.
• The CSI Driver will support VOLUME_MOUNT_GROUP and will respect fsGroup configured in securityContext
• Mountpoint logs will be accessible via kubectl logs
• Mountpoint processes and Pods will run as non-root

Breaking changes

• IMDS might not be accessible by Mountpoint if the IMDS hop limit is not configured to allow containers to access
• Cache folder is not on the host anymore, and sharing cache folders between multiple Mountpoint processes won’t be possible. This was never recommended, but was possible to do with v1. We now recommend customers to rely on Mountpoint Pod sharing instead.
