Summary

AI-DLC 2.8.1 is a stability update for the native distribution introduced in 2.8.0. It fixes first-run configuration, same-version updates, native hook dispatch for Codex, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot, and Plan Approval flows across all seven harnesses.

This release also adds Change Control, which lets each intent use strict or relaxed handling when approved inputs change. Existing intents remain strict until explicitly changed. Existing workflow records require no manual migration.

For Cursor and GitHub Copilot projects created with 2.8.0, aidlc update restores hook execution. Running aidlc config refreshes project wiring to the native adapter commands.

For a manual installation, download and extract aidlc-runtime-2.8.1.tar.gz, then copy runtime/<harness>/ into your project.

Highlights

• Pressing Enter now accepts the displayed defaults in the first-run aidlc config wizard. EOF still cancels.
• aidlc update now recognizes an already-current installation under normal shell umasks instead of failing the integrity check.
• GitHub Copilot and Cursor hooks now use the native adapter dispatcher. Existing 2.8.0 project wiring remains compatible.
• Codex PreToolUse hooks now return the required allow decision when they rewrite tool input.
• Plan Approval authority now binds to the approved content and workflow attempt. Read-only engine activity no longer invalidates it, and human recovery paths are recorded.
• Native Plan Approval prerequisite commands now run before approval on Claude Code, Kiro CLI, Kiro IDE, Codex, Cursor, opencode, and GitHub Copilot. Unrelated engine routes, local binaries, PATH overrides, and data-driven wrappers remain blocked.
• Change Control adds per-intent strict and relaxed handling for approved input changes. Existing intents remain strict until a human changes the setting.
