PS5 Game Launcher 1.1.0
A big update since the beta: your controller now works properly in games, captures, Steam downloads, Switch games, Steam friends and Discord voice in the quick menu, and the launcher can now update itself.
Updating from 1.0.0-beta: download PS5-Game-Launcher-Setup-1.1.0.exe and run it. It updates your existing installation and keeps your settings, library and users. From now on, updates come through Settings › System › Software Update.
Controller in Games
- Games now see a virtual controller, so the quick menu and home screen no longer send button presses into the game
- Choose what games see per game: DualSense, DualShock 4 or Xbox 360
- Rumble, adaptive triggers, lightbar, player lights, HD haptics and the controller speaker reach your DualSense, now also over Bluetooth (haptics at the full rate, speaker sound included)
- Real Xbox controllers are supported too
- The controller is ready almost instantly after the launcher starts (it used to take ~5 seconds)
Captures (with OBS)
- Press Create / Share in a game: save recent gameplay, take a screenshot, or start/stop a recording
- New Media Gallery to watch, favourite and delete your clips and screenshots
- Settings › Captures: choose the encoder (AV1, HEVC or H.264, only the ones your PC supports), quality / CQP and more
Steam
- Download and update Steam games right in the launcher, with progress in the quick menu
- Games you own but haven't installed show up in your library and can be installed to the drive you choose
- Faster updates for big games: small patches no longer make Steam check the whole game first
Switch Games
- Emulator support for Eden (and other yuzu-based emulators): your games are added automatically with their names and artwork
- Choose which controller each player (1–8) uses
Quick Menu
- New Game Base with four tabs, like on the PS5:
- Friends: your Steam friends, who's online and what they're playing; message them, join their game or view their profile (needs your own free Steam Web API key, see Settings › Users › Steam Friends)
- Party: your current Discord call, with mute, deafen and volumes
- Messages: your Discord messages
- Discord: join voice channels on your servers or call someone directly
- Cards now work like the PS5's: the selected card is bigger and the row slides with you
- A card for your latest clip or screenshot opens the Media Gallery
- Redesigned Customize screen
- HDR on/off in Screen settings and the quick menu
Everything Else
- Software updates from Settings › System
- PS5-style game launch animation
- UI sounds and menu music packs from DeckThemes
- Built-in file browser you can use with the controller (no more Windows dialogs)
- Setup can install the extras some features need: HidHide, VIIPER and OBS Studio
- Much lighter while you play: about 55 MB of memory in-game
- Lots of fixes, including UI focus, animation and quick-menu layout fixes from @LifeDreamer24 (#1). Thank you!
