What's new?

Watermarks disappear
Numbers and strings appear
In Google Sheets, my dear
Fret not, for the new FilePicker is here

And 'tis cleaner and meaner
So're RedShfit queries
And app embed worries
Are now a'goner.

Older backups auto-delete, and
With that, the release is complete.

🚀 Features

  • “If only these watermarks could disappear”, was thy wish. Thy wish is granted. Go to thy Admin page, check "Hide", and watch the watermark disappear. While thy are at it, consider turning telemetry on so we can build and ship better. Win-win. [#15036]
  • The FilePicker is now cleaner, meaner, and themer. Er, that's not a word, but you know what we mean. [#15183]

🛠️ Improvements

  • Because how Spring handles classes with every release---theirs, not ours---, and because how we upgrade Spring, you saw an error when you upgraded your Appsmith instance. With some nifty wizadry, we have now made this go away. We wish Spring employed nifty wizadry, too. [#15368]
  • We afforded more control over app embeds last week. We allow more usability of that feature this week. Uncle Ben said, "With great usability comes great responsibility", so just be more responsible, alright? [#15619]
  • Choosing between numbers and strings----"L1f3", as an example---for datatypes on Google Sheets was inconvenient. Zip codes in the UK complained, so we have a progressive fix for this. Which is another way of saying, bear with us as we fix the root cause. Pr3tty pl3as3. [#15470]
  • appsmithctl auto-backup and cleanup does exactly what it says---deletes anything older than the fourth oldest backup. You have the power to change that. [#15203]
  • When trying to upgrade so the watermark disappeared, Intercom didn't come up fast enough. We want you to upgrade without a hitch, so if you do have a hitch, Intercom's right there on those pages now. Try it out. Upgrade. :-) [#15576]

🐛 Bug fixes

  • Sometimes with OAuth2-controlled datasources, APIs would throw up very long error messages. They are gone. Not just long ones. All of 'em. [#15593]
  • Defaults for the Select widget acted out. They have been taught to behave. [#15133]
  • [MongoDB] Queries that threw up errors about connection pools now don't throw those errors. We are uncomfortable about why they were throwing it in the first place, so we are sleuthing away on it. #TMI [#15591]
  • Valid SSH URLs felt bad on being called invalid when connecting to a Git repo. We have established their validity beyond a shred of doubt. They are happy. We hope you are, too. [#15494]
  • We didn't like that your favorite widget, the Table, didn't play well with the Menu Button's properties. The Table has been tamed. [#15457]
  • Some RegEx values that began with \ were being invalidated by JSONForms. That's conditionally fixed. If you insist on using dynamic values beginning with a \, use two of them so we don't invalidate the second \. Phew! [#15316]
  • How to get away with (multiple RedShift queries firing at the same time and crying bloody) murder. [#15458]
