Added
- Answers stream live, paragraph by paragraph. Claude's answer text used to appear only once a whole content block was finished, so a long reply sat blank and then landed at once. It now shows each paragraph as it arrives, and Codex, Gemini and Kiro replies stream the same way (per-token updates are coalesced, so a long Codex reply no longer floods the app with events)
- Thinking is live in every visible pane, not only the focused one, and a tab you are not looking at catches up the moment you switch to it
- Auto-generated tab titles are on by default and run on Haiku. One short turn per untitled tab, with no transcript written, and only for Claude sessions. A title you set yourself is never overwritten
- Per-tab running-work badge. Each tab shows how many processes and agents it is running, with a breakdown in the tooltip
- 7d usage warning. The title-bar usage badge shows a
!once fewer than 10% of the weekly limit is left. It gets stronger as the window runs out: brighter, bold at 5% left, underlined at 1% left
Changed
- Long builds survive. A foreground command now has an hour by default (up to 4 hours) instead of 15 minutes. A silent command is only stopped when its process tree is also idle, so a compile that prints nothing for minutes keeps running. Deliberate waits such as
sleepare never stopped for silence. The CLI's own Bash tool, queued follow-ups, the Node servers and the Codex/Gemini/Kiro shim got matching limits - Split panes are one layout. Where a new tab opens, how a pane closes and how tabs move between panes now come from a single reconciled layout instead of several effects racing each other
- Chat history keeps 500 conversation messages no matter how much subagent traffic arrives
- Large speed pass: fewer store updates per streamed message, hidden tabs do no work, dozens of file, git and plugin commands moved off the UI thread, and git status polls in different repositories no longer wait on each other
Fixed
- The end of a turn could go missing. The done chime played but the thinking stopped mid-sentence, with no final message and no stats. The last part of the stream was dropped when a turn ended with a backlog. Newer Claude CLIs (2.1.289 and up) send hundreds of progress lines per thought, which made it happen almost every time
- Thinking arrived in huge chunks and the UI seemed to freeze. The chat did not redraw for updates that only changed the last message, and panes other than the focused one held their streaming text back
- Split panes: tabs opened in the wrong pane, closing a pane left a stray blank tab, and panes combined themselves. Multi-pane layouts were never restored on restart because the startup save overwrote them first, so every restart collapsed to one pane. They are restored now, including on a narrower monitor
- A blank band at the bottom of the chat, and messages pushed up and gone, while agents worked. Subagent tool calls filled the history limit and evicted your conversation. Scrolling up one pixel used to bring it back. A subagent card could also stay frozen on its first state
- Windows: heredocs and quoted text were corrupted. Text shaped like a drive path (
m:\) inside quotes or a heredoc body was rewritten to forward slashes. Path repair now only touches unquoted words - Windows:
powershell -Command "..."lost its variables. Bash expanded$nameand$_inside the double quotes before PowerShell saw them. Names bash does not define are now passed through, and the result says so - Windows: killing a command could miss its children. Programs started through Git Bash (
find, grep, tail, sleep, ssh) hang off a dead parent, so the tree kill never reached them and the idle check read them as idle. Timeouts, Escape and cancel now reach them - Windows: abandoned monitor shells wait 15 minutes before they are cleaned up, up from 5. Finished RunBash shells no longer stay listed as strays forever
- Internal calls no longer show up as sessions. MicroTask, the
/usagepoll and title generation left transcripts that appeared in the resume list. They no longer write one, and the ones already on disk are hidden - The context readout no longer adds about 10 KB of lines to your session transcript after every turn
- Codex: the second turn overwrote the first turn's tool rows. Item ids are scoped per process now
- The tab completion ripple no longer makes the renderer redraw the whole window for five seconds after every turn
