Changes from v0.57.4 to v0.57.7

Bug Fixes

  • Linux: app stuck on the login screen. On recent versions the app could hang at login with an endless loading spinner and a TypeError: execa is not a function error. This affected AppImage, deb, rpm and Flatpak installs. Thanks to @caddydove for the fix! (#2308, #2236)
  • Pasted files keep their names. Files pasted from the clipboard or dragged in from a browser no longer get a long number added to their name: Screenshot.png stays Screenshot.png instead of becoming Screenshot_1736682551000_0.png. This had been happening since 0.54.0. (#2410)
  • Shared channels. Channels you share now stay shared after you restart the app. In channels you own, the invite controls, member roles, the members menu and Transfer ownership could disappear, with "Leave channel" offered instead. They're back. (#2420, anyproto/anytype-heart#3335)
  • Replies to replies in Discussions. A reply to a reply was invisible on desktop but still counted as unread. These replies now show in the thread. Deleted comments now leave a "Comment deleted" placeholder, so the replies around them still make sense. (#2406)

Improvements

  • Typing and agent activity in Discussions. Like in chats, you can now see who is typing and what an agent is doing while it works on a comment. A new setting, "Show others when I'm typing", lets you stop sharing your own typing. (#2407)
  • Local network sync. Syncing with devices on your local network starts sooner, now works over cable-only connections, and no longer stalls on file downloads that hang.
  • Audio files. m4a and m4b files are now recognized as audio instead of video. Thanks to @SayantanGhosh0! (anyproto/anytype-heart#3330)
  • API. The local API can now archive, restore and permanently delete objects, list chats with unread counters, and stream chat and search updates.

Security

  • This release includes security hardening. We recommend updating.
