FadCam v4.0.0-beta10 is here! - A Major Milestone

What's New

🎥 Recording
- Introduced the new Hybrid MP4 recording pipeline. TL;DR: When you stop recording normally, FadCam automatically finalizes the recording as a standard MP4, making it instantly compatible with galleries, media players, and social apps. If the recording is interrupted by a crash, power loss, force stop, or any other unexpected event, the video remains safely preserved as a fragmented MP4, preventing footage loss. While this sounds simple, it required extensive work on our custom-patched Media3 library. ⚙️ Settings
- Added a placeholder Automation entry in Advanced Settings with a Coming Soon badge
- Added a new Tutorials section with a Coming Soon badge and a link to the FadSec Lab YouTube channel
- Added a new FadCam is now on iOS! section
- Added a visible Trash shortcut in Settings after many users thought their deleted recordings were gone forever. The recovery feature was actually there all along, but intentionally hidden to help protect sensitive recordings from being discovered by someone else. You can now easily access your Trash when needed, and if you prefer the extra privacy, you can hide the shortcut again at any time.

🎥 Recording
Fixed unnecessary battery drain and device warming by releasing the camera during manual pause and reopening it on resume. Motion Detection mode continues analyzing frames without releasing the camera so detection remains active.
🔦 Torch
- Fixed torch state synchronization when changed outside the app. FadCam now instantly reflects torch changes made through Quick Settings, the system UI, or other apps
💾 Storage & Performance
- Fixed out-of-memory crashes when saving very large recordings (e.g. 14 GB+) to the gallery by improving memory management (Fixes #296)
🔄 Backup & Restore
Fixed a ClassCastException that could occur during backup and restore by preserving numeric preference types correctly.
🎨 Interface
- Removed external font dependencies for self-contained changelog rendering on the What's New page (Fixes #304)

🎥 Recording
- Fixed screen recordings always using the highest supported frame rate regardless of the selected FPS
🖥️ Screen Recording
- Fixed incorrect aspect ratio handling that caused pillarboxing in recorded videos. Native aspect ratios are now preserved correctly
