The MPV update
This is a huge release which we have been working on for over a year (!) and a lot of care has been taken to make this update as great as it can be.
While we have been continuously testing this new version of Aniyomi in a public beta, there may still be some kinks left that need to be ironed out. This is why we are grateful for your feedback on GitHub and in our Discord server.
We have completely rewritten the player from scratch and created a unique player based on MPV. With this, we aim to bring you the best possible anime viewing experience.
Changes
- An all new custom-built anime player based on MPV including these features and more:
- Supports changing subtitles and audio tracks
- Gestures for seeking, volume and brightness control
- Make screenshots and save or share them directly from the app
- Looks a lot nicer than the old player
- Automatic intro skipping (when you've enabled it and you have added tracking)
- A lot more is customizable by editing the MPV configuration
- New look and feel in a lot of areas
- A load of bugfixes
- All new Tachiyomi features up to v0.14.3

⬇️ Which APK do I download? ⬇️
If you have a fairly modern smartphone, you generally want to get arm64-v8a. Try armeabi-v7a for older devices. If you are unsure or require compatibility then the universal APK (the biggest in size) will work everywhere.
