A restore no longer wipes the hosts a backup never knew about (#2).
restore()replaced every list and dictionary wholesale, so importing a bundle taken from a single-host install — or from before a second host existed — into a multi-host instance silently erased everydock8520/pin, note, group and update window in it. Nothing said so; the toast reported success. The rule now: a bundle replaces state only for the hosts it speaks for, and state for hosts it never saw is kept. New bundles record the hosts they were taken from; older ones are inferred from their keys, and the inference errs toward keeping — being stale is recoverable, being wiped is not. What survived is counted and named in the result (
kept 4 current entries for dock8520 (not covered by this bundle)), because a restore that quietly decides what lives is only one step better than one that quietly wipes. The mirror case is reported too: a bundle carrying entries for a host this instance does not manage restores them anyway — they take effect if the host is later added — with a warning saying which host and why nothing appears yet.
