Fourth and last beta of the full controller before the release candidate. What the first three betas brought is all still here (see v2026.11.0-beta3 and before). This one reworks the Zones page, gives every thing one name in every language, and fixes what came up. If your garden depends on Smart Irrigation and you do not want surprises, stay on v2026.10.10.
New
- The Zones page, reworked. Your zones come first, and Add zone is a button after them. An open zone is in three parts: the zone and its valve, what it needs, and where it stands. The water balance is shown as a value and changed only after Change, so a typo no longer overwrites it. Delete has its own row at the end. The two actions that discard the data of every zone (reset all water balances, clear all weather data) now sit apart, outlined in red. On a phone, every tab is in view (#987, #988, #989).
- A value nobody chose says so. A zone's drainage rate and crop factor start at a default; until you pick a soil or a planting, or type a number, they read "Not chosen yet" with the value used. New zones start at 8 mm/h (loam) instead of 50.8 mm/h, which drained faster than any soil the presets know. Existing zones keep their value (#990).
- One word for each thing. The panel and Home Assistant now say water balance (it was "bucket"), module (it was "calculation engine") and crop factor (it was "crop coefficient"), in all 20 languages and in the docs. A glossary lists them. Only the displayed names change: the entity ids, the attributes and the services keep their names (
bucket,reset_bucketand so on), so your automations and dashboards keep working. Entity names follow, so a zone's sensor now reads "Water balance" (#991). - Continuous updates for sensors moves to the top of the Sensor groups page, where it acts (#983, #986).
- Numbers in your number format throughout the panel, and the last English left in the German panel translated (#980, #981).
These are by @johnnyh1975, thank you!
Fixes
- Enabling direct valve control now adds the watering buttons at once. The zones' Irrigate now and the hub's Irrigate all appeared only after a restart, and after a reload of the integration some zones' buttons and multipliers were missing. Switched off, the buttons now show as unavailable (#992, #993, thanks @lweberru).
- The evapotranspiration note sits under its field in the sensor group, and only shows when a zone reads that value (#984, thanks @Megalos).
- The help of a step's time added or removed says in what order the percentage, the time and the bounds apply (#985, thanks @Megalos).
- A sun trigger whose start fell before sunrise is shown for tomorrow (#975); the card's main program and the setup assistant's sources are in your language, and the assistant no longer picks a planting nobody chose (#976, #977, #978).
- A zone short by a hair whose planning already counts a run read "Short by : about 12 s"; it now reads "About 12 s (0.7 L) at the next calculation".
Under the hood
- Smart Irrigation now needs Home Assistant 2026.3 or later, the first release on Python 3.14. A check runs the whole test suite on it, so the minimum is one something verifies (#979, thanks @johnnyh1975 for the review of the CI).
- The tests run every night against the latest Home Assistant, the docs' links are checked, and the version is checked against the tag at release.
Trying it
In HACS, turn on "Show beta versions" for Smart Irrigation, update, restart Home Assistant, and reload the browser so the panel is the new one. 3382 Python tests and 155 panel tests pass.
