FluidVoice v1.6.7

Changes

  • Parakeet transcription is now up to 2x faster on Apple silicon. M4 and M5 see the largest gains, while M1-M3 see roughly 1.3-1.5x faster transcription.
  • Improved microphone reliability during device changes and rapid start/stop by using the safer direct Core Audio capture path for everyone.
  • Reduced recording startup latency by removing unnecessary teardown and first-audio scheduling delays.
  • Prevented media playback from getting stuck after dictation when Now Playing is slow or settings change mid-recording.
  • Kept FluidVoice microphone selection independent from the macOS default, with a safe built-in fallback.
  • Fixed an issue where AirPods media controls could stop working while FluidVoice was enabled.
  • Reduced first-word capture latency from about 350 ms to under 100 ms, reducing the chance of missing the first few words.
  • Prevented temporary dictation pasteboard writes from appearing in supported clipboard managers' history.
  • Made the advanced prompt editor scrollable so its actions remain accessible in smaller windows.
  • Prevented duplicate update prompts and repeated installation attempts within a running app, with clear download and restart progress.
