This release was a considerable amount of actual human work without "AI" sloptributions. It contains new features, polished UI and bug fixes. Please consider sponsoring me if you are interested in the successful future of this project 💖. Next time you are buying "AI tokens", maybe it's better to spend them on BT instead ;)
Improvements
- During the initial configuration, the system message is properly centered and has a better overall look.
- For custom browsers there is only a single profile ever. Therefore, there is no need to show tabs.
- Custom generic browser "arg" is now editable, and "extra arg" is hidden.
- 🐧 Linux autodiscovery additionally detects:
- Brave (Brave Origin was already detected) installed via package manager and Snap.
- Chromium installed via Snap Store.
- Vivaldi installed via Snap Store.
- Opera installed via Snap Store.
- 🍞 Toast opacity is configurable in settings (see General/Toast). Toast becomes fully opaque on hover.
- 🍞 Toast animation duration is also configurable in settings, between 0.1 to 5 seconds.
- 🍞 Toast geekout:
- Hovering on the browser icon shows the browser and profile name.
- Hovering on the URL shows the full URL.
- If a non-default rule was hit, the "rule" icon appears, and hovering on it shows the rule details.
- ⌨️ Number pad keys are now supported for navigating the picker (
0-9andEnterkey) thanks to @AVHon in #237. - ⌨️ Picker number can go up to 10 (was
1-9). Pressing0invokes the 10th profile. This makes sense as on the keyboard0goes physically after9so why not use it? - Picker label can be configured in four modes (none, browser and profile (the default), browser, or profile).
- 🐧 Opacity for picker and toast is now fully supported on Linux:

Bugs fixed
bt.exewas sometimes hanging after showing toast notification (thread sync issue).- 🐧 Keyboard detection engine is rewritten to be faster on Windows and actually work on Linux. I use
udevon Linux, which means your user needs to be in theinputgroup to use it (sudo usermod -aG input $USER) which is done automatically viadpkgso you don't have to worry about it. bt browser set defaultcommand was not saving the result.- Re-fixed "safelinks" for a missed host in #221. Thanks @
