Keyboard Navigation
Keyboard support added - Navigate the entire interface without touching your mouse
Note
Not all functionality has been adapted, but core navigation and playback controls are fully supported.
Dashboard & Search:
- Type to Search - Start typing any letter on the Dashboard to automatically open Search Bar (or press Space)
- Layer Switching - Jump instantly between Navigation Menus (Top/Left) and Content Grid by pressing Tab
- Arrow Key Navigation - Glide through movie posters on Board, Discover, or Library pages
- Hide Hover Panel - Caps Lock ON will now hide the metadata hover panel while browsing titles
Player Controls:
- S - Subtitle menu
- A - Audio menu
- M - Mute
- I - Episode list
- R - Playback speed
- Z/X - Subtitle delay adjustment
- V - Show/hide subtitles
- U - Ultrawide Zoom In
Gamepad Support
Controller support added - Play Stremio Kai with Xbox/PlayStation controllers:
Navigation:
- Left Stick / D-Pad - Navigate Grid/Sidebar (acts as Arrow keys)
- A/✕ - Select & Play/Pause
- B/○ - Back
- X/□ - Switch Layer in menus / Skip Intro while watching
- Y/△ - Return to Board
- Bumpers - Cycle through options (1-6)
Player Controls:
- Left Stick / D-Pad - Seek forward/back & Volume Up/Down
- Start - Next Episode
- L3 - Subtitle menu
- R3 - Audio menu
Important
After launching the app, click anywhere once (or Alt+Tab outside and back to the app) to enable keyboard/gampepad navigation. This is an Electron/Chromium limitation where the webview requires a trusted input event before accepting keyboard commands.
Settings & UI
- Redesigned Kai Shortcuts section - Now includes all keyboard and gamepad controls in Settings
Subtitle & Track Selection
- Fixed subtitle positioning - Subtitles now always use black bars for positioning when available (fixes edge cases)
