BentoPDF Is One Year Old! 🎉
I didn't realize this. The first release of BentoPDF, v1.0.0, went out on 20 October 2025, which means BentoPDF is now one year old! I'm so thankful to every one of you who used it, shared it, reported bugs, translated it and sent PRs. None of this would have happened without you. ❤️

BentoPDF has grown into a lot more than one tool, but behind it there is still just one core maintainer: me. Every feature, every engine, every bug fix, every PR review and every issue reply goes through one person, and keeping this pace up on my own is getting really hard.

Alright, so back on to the release.
1. Measurement Tools
BentoPDF can now measure directly on your PDFs. Open any PDF in the PDF Editor, switch to Measure tab.
- Distance, Perimeter and Area tools for floor plans, drawings, maps and anything else drawn to scale
- Set the scale by typing it in, or calibrate it by clicking two points of a length you already know
- Scale areas: give different parts of a page their own scale, for drawings that have several views or details on one sheet. Scales already saved inside a PDF are picked up automatically
- Snapping to the drawing itself: endpoints, midpoints, intersections and along lines. Shapes snap together cleanly, so a new area can start exactly on the corner of another one
- Magnifier: a loupe follows your cursor and zooms in on the spot you're measuring, so you can place points precisely on small details. You can turn it off from the Measure toolbar
- Units: in, ft, yd, mi, mm, cm, m, km and pt, with decimal or fractional precision (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16)
- Saved as standard PDF measurement data, so your measurements stay with the file
2. Favorite Tools
Star the tools you use most and they get pinned to a Favorites section at the top of the homepage. On mobiles, hold the tool card to favorite.
3. PDF Multi Tool Revamp
The PDF multi tool has been redesigned for a cleaner interface, and can now handle very large PDFs, upto 10k pages even, with ease.
- Insert pages from a file, a blank page, pages from the clipboard, or Alternate Merge to interleave another PDF's pages before or after each page
- Cut, copy, paste, duplicate and replace pages
- Extract pages as a new PDF or as images
- Split into multiple PDFs by page range, even and odd pages, one per page, every N pages, bookmarks (choose the depth) or maximum file size
- Page Numbering, with style, prefix and starting number for any range
- Page Size, to change page dimensions. Also automatically detects uneven page sizes
- Reverse the page order
- Rotate, delete and drag to reorder, one page or many at once
- Thumbnail size control
4. Compress PDF Now Runs On Hyper Compress
Compress PDF now uses Hyper Compress, our own compression engine, which is the best open source PDF compressor btw, instead of the old pipeline. Pick Low, Medium, High or Lossless. The older, Photon and Condense are deprecated and Hyper handles everything.
