BentoPDF Update – New Features, Improvements & Bug Fixes

This release brings one of our most requested feature yet, especially for those who’ve been waiting for full fillable PDF form support.

✨ New Features

1. Create Fillable PDF Forms

You can now build AcroForm-compatible fillable PDFs from scratch or by uploading an existing PDF.
Supported field types include:

• Text fields
• Checkboxes
• Radio buttons
• Dropdowns
• List boxes
• Buttons
• Signature fields
• Date fields
• Image fields

Note: Your PDF viewer must support advanced form features (signature, image fields, interactive buttons).

2. New Preferences Tab

There’s now a Preferences section in the homepage settings bar—allowing you to enable full-width mode for the BentoPDF interface.

3. Flatten Option for Sign PDF Tool

The Sign PDF tool now includes a “Flatten” checkbox so you can permanently apply your signature if needed.

4. Enhanced Page Dimensions Tool

The Page Dimensions tool now displays:

• Aspect Ratio
• Area
• Rotation

You can also export the data as CSV.

🐛 Bug Fixes

• Fixed an issue where JPEG images were not supported.
• Corrected a bug where rotated PDFs were not cropped properly.
• Fixed a mobile view issue where the Bookmarks tool tab didn’t highlight when changed.

🛠️ Notes for Developers

Many developers wanted to contribute but found the codebase hard to follow due to limited comments.
This update includes much more in-code documentation, especially in the PDF Form Creator. More comprehensive docs are on the way soon.

💬 Notes for Everyone

I’ll be working next on a true digital signature tool (PKCS-based), not just drawn signatures.
