📦 Included Tools

1. SymLink Folder Redirector.exe (Advanced Automation)

This is the flagship tool for migrating entire folders (like your User profile) without losing data. It follows a professional "Safety-First" workflow.

• How it works:
  1. Copy: It copies all source data to your new location.
  2. Rename: It renames the original folder to _temp (acting as an instant backup).
  3. Link: It creates a Directory Junction so the system thinks the files never moved.
• Best For: Moving C:\Users to a safe drive like Z:\home\custom_name.
• Key Features: Visual progress bar, _temp safety logic, and path memory via Ajay_config.ini.

2. SymLink Creator.exe (Manual Precision)

A lightweight utility for creating instant links for specific files or folders without moving or copying anything.

• How it works: It creates a direct pointer from a Source to a Destination.
• Best For: Advanced users who have already moved their files manually or want to link specific game assets.
• Key Features: Supports both File Symlinks and Directory Junctions (/J) with a smart selection dialog.

🌟 Winlator Optimization Guide

In Winlator, reinstalling system files or updating containers often wipes the internal C:\ drive. Use these tools to protect your data:

1. Run SymLink Folder Redirector.exe.
2. Step 1 (Current): Select C:\users.
3. Step 2 (New): Select a folder on Z:\home\ (e.g., Z:\home\MyData).
4. Action: Click SAFE REDIRECT.
5. Result: Your saves, settings, and desktop files are now stored on the Z: drive, which is a safe location that won't be removed even if you reinstall Winlator system files.

🚫 Limitations

Please be aware of the following technical limitations regarding drive support:

• Supported Drives: Redirection is primary supported between internal-type drives such as C:, E:, and Z:.
• Unsupported Drives: Redirection to D:, F:, or certain external/removable drives may not be supported due to file system restrictions or mount permissions within the environment.
• File System: Both source and destination must reside on an NTFS-compatible file system that supports Junctions and Symbolic Links.
• It may not work on winlator bionic.

📖 Instructions

Using the Safe Redirector:

1. Select Paths: Pick the folder to be replaced and the new storage destination.
2. Execute: Click the large blue button. A "Working..." window will appear.
3. Verify: Once finished, the tool will open the folder to show you the successful link.
4. Cleanup: After a system restart, you can safely delete the original folder that was renamed to _temp.
