FISSURE 2026-09-21 Snapshot
This release captures the current tactical RF operations architecture demonstrated at GNU Radio Conference 2026. FISSURE has transitioned from individual RF tools toward a distributed hub-and-node framework supporting Sensor Nodes, Targets, Actions, Signal Analysis workflows, artifact-driven analysis, and plugin-based capability deployment.
Highlights
Tactical RF Operations
- Added target-centric workflows for detections, Signals of Interest, Targets, geolocation, and operator actions.
- Expanded Dashboard mapping, CoT/TAK workflows, replay support, and tactical visualization.
- Added node activity views, structured alerts, and target recommendations.
Signal Analysis Workflows
- Reorganized Signal Analysis around SOIs and evidence-driven workflows.
- Added Capture, Inspection, Conditioning, Feature Extraction, and Classification workflows using managed artifacts and provenance tracking.
- Improved handoff between collection, analysis, classification, and operational workflows.
Distributed Operations and Plugins
- Added managed plugin lifecycle support for Sensor Nodes, including deployment, updates, repairs, and removal.
- Added plugin-driven actions, automated playlists, and reusable operations.
- Improved remote artifact transfer with verification and structured metadata.
Geolocation and RF Collection
- Added target-centric geolocation workflows with multi-node observations.
- Improved Wi-Fi discovery, logging, and spatial geolocation workflows.
- Unified Sensor Node positioning and GPS handling.
Deployment
- Expanded installation options including Apptainer deployment modes.
- Improved Ubuntu 24.04 compatibility.
- Added remote graphical workflows for distributed Sensor Node operation.
