AetherSDR v26.10.1 — Qt 6.12 everywhere

95 merged changes from 12 human contributors and AetherClaude. The headline is Qt 6.12: every binary and every source build now runs on Qt 6.12.0 LTS. Around it, every control on a radio without a Flex command plane now either works or says why it can't, a CTR2-Max controller can reach the radio through AetherSDR, and the Hermes-Lite 2 gains squelch, APF and RIT/XIT.

Qt 6.12 everywhere

  • Windows, macOS and Linux binaries move from Qt 6.8.3 to Qt 6.12.0 LTS, and source builds now require Qt 6.12 (#5842, #6055). scripts/setup/setup-qt.sh (setup-qt.ps1 on Windows) installs exactly the release Qt and qtkeychain with one command, and CMake finds it without flags.
  • On upgrading: both macOS DMGs now require macOS 14.4, so Intel Macs that cannot run Sonoma stop receiving updates. Windows 10 (1809+) stays supported. Source builds on Linux below glibc 2.34 (2.38 on aarch64), on Macs below 14.5, and from distro packages wait until a Qt 6.12 reaches them.

Also in this release

  • Every control works or says why not (#6044, #6049). On a Hermes-Lite 2, ANAN, RTL-SDR or Icom, a control now reaches the radio, is dimmed with its reason, or refuses aloud, instead of silently doing nothing.
  • A CTR2 relay (#6090). The new CTR2 Proxy applet relays a CTR2-Max to the connected radio. Wi-Fi works with today's CTR2 firmware; USB is ready on the host side and waits on a CTR2 firmware release.
  • Authenticated 4O3A accessories (#6008, #6027). Direct TGXL, PGXL and Antenna Genius connections send their access code from the system keychain, under a new Radio Setup → Peripherals page.
  • Hermes-Lite 2: receive squelch (#5982), the CW audio peaking filter and a working AGC-off level (#6050), RIT and XIT per receiver (#6012), FFT AVG that averages (#5980) and the CL1 external 10 MHz reference (#5923).
  • ANAN-G2 audio controls and the radio's own speaker (#5992), and RTL-SDR confirmed receive state with finer zoom (#5924).

Worth knowing on upgrade

  • Hermes-Lite 2: DIGU and DIGL now open with AGC off (#6119), and a profile that had ticked Auto RF gain now arms on connect (#5976).
  • Ulanzi Dial: a connected dial is now used by default, and its MOX and TUNE media-key defaults are removed — bind them in the mapper if you used them (#5964).
  • CAT: set_ts 0 now answers RPRT -1 on every radio, Flex included (#6049).

The full list of changes, with every PR, is in the v26.10.1 CHANGELOG.
