Artifacts in v1.6.3
| Platform | Files |
|---|---|
| Windows x64 and ARM64 | signed .msi, signed portable .exe (Full and Lite), signed -setup.exe
|
| macOS Apple silicon | signed and notarized .dmg, plus the .app.tar.gz updater archive
|
| Linux x64 | .AppImage, .deb, .rpm

The MSI installs both the Full and Lite editions. Portable EXEs require no installation.
CycloneDX SBOMs (sbom-rust.cdx.json, sbom-npm.cdx.json) and build provenance
attestations are published alongside the binaries.
Changes
Removed
- Hot Dog Stand theme: Remove the theme. Anyone who had it selected opens in the Light theme.
Changed
-
Desktop build compiler: Raise the desktop Rust minimum from 1.88 to 1.89 for the maintained Linux D-Bus dependency. The parser crate remains at version 0.4.0 with its existing Rust 1.88 minimum. Supported desktop OS baselines are unchanged.
-
Reference screenshots: Remove outdated reference screenshots that showed identifying environment details, and replace the 0.3.0 workspace screenshot with a text caption.
-
Parser source compatibility (#814): Advance
cmtraceopen-parserto0.4.0for breaking source API changes from new Windows Firewall enum variants and public struct fields. Update affected exhaustive matches and struct literals; see the migration notes. -
DsRegCmd diagnostics link to event-log entries (#870): Diagnostics from rules that fire on a specific
0xcode now carryrelated_error_codes(public field onDsregcmdDiagnosticInsight; struct literals needrelated_error_codes: Vec::new()), and the analyzer links event-log entries that cite those codes on token boundaries. Only codes that appear in the rule's fields on token boundaries are recorded; a rule firing on a substring hit records none. See the migration notes.
Fixed
-
Linux single-instance handoff: Port an owned copy of the single-instance plugin to maintained zbus 6, preserving exclusive election, file handoff and name cleanup. An unavailable session bus retains startup without instance enforcement and reports a warning; a failed delivery to an existing primary reports an error instead of successful delivery. Windows and macOS implementations are unchanged.
-
Archive and TLS dependencies: Update ZIP to 9.0.4 and Rustls to 0.23.46, retain archive symlink/special-file rejection, and remove the updater's unused legacy ZIP extraction path without suppressing the new advisories.
-
IME record framing: Recover interrupted logical records during live tailing and identify retained unparsed fragments without adding public parser fields or variants.
-
Diagnostics collection bounds: Retain bounded captures and report source changes instead of implying a complete, unchanged capture.
-
Release package verification: Require Windows embedded application signing during installer bundling, retained macOS trust evidence and complete updater platform coverage before publication.
-
Find accessibility: Give the Find bar and its live result count named accessible regions so assistive technology can identify the controls and announce search results.
-
Public Autopilot parser projection: Mask short typed identities consistently in narrative while preserving generated redaction tokens. This addresses the parser-library projection contract; the desktop has no caller of this Autopilot leaf projection.
-
Development tooling dependencies (#816, #817): Update
source-map-jsto1.2.2in the application and download-metrics lockfiles, addressing indexed source-map offset validation (GHSA-68fv-2mgg-jv7q). -
DsRegCmd live event coverage (#918): Report incomplete channel reads and unparseable records as failed coverage with their details, while retaining parsed events and counts.
-
Windows Firewall logs (#814): Recognize firewall records separately from IIS, preserve all fields and Local wall-clock timestamps, report skipped NUL padding and warn about lost events, and retain encoding and source identity through live tailing and timeline queries.
-
DsRegCmd live capture reports evidence-write failures (#760): Connectivity, event-log, and scheduled-task evidence now report directory creation, serialization, and file-write errors instead of returning a successful capture with missing evidence.
Verification
Built from signed tag v1.6.3, source 62fe586a02c199011b7bdc0936a96527c0d335ec. Windows x64/ARM64 package signatures, macOS notarization/trust, Linux ABI checks, all 27 asset checksums and six updater signatures passed. Ubuntu 22.04 final-artifact Xvfb X11 acceptance passed. Windows interactive acceptance was waived and not performed. Ubuntu 24.04 native acceptance was not performed: test-environment isolation setup blocked before application launch; release proceeded at the owner’s direction.
