[0.8.35] - 2026-11-08
Fixed
- A
readOnlyHint: trueannotation no longer switches off the argument
screen. Reported by a third party (2026-11-06) against 0.8.34 and
reproducible with no server attached:_check_dangerousresolved
readOnlyHintfirst and returned before step 4b, so a tool whose name dodges
the pattern list ran with nothing inspecting what it was passed —
{"sql": "DROP TABLE customers"}and{"cmd": "rm -rf /"}both returned
Nonewhile the identical arguments without the annotation were refused. The
annotation exists to clear a name false positive (clear_cache), and
annotations are server-supplied metadata, so treating it as "skip everything"
let a sloppy or hostile server opt its own shell/SQL tool out of the guard
silently. The argument scan now runs in the read-only branch too; only the name
check is skipped there. The defect shipped in 0.8.27 together with the
annotations fix and is present through 0.8.34.
