The September drop proper, three weeks after the encore. The 3D globe learned to bounce signals off the Moon, and band-opening alerts finally know which coast you're on.
🌙 Headline: EME (Moonbounce) Layout — Beta
A layout built around the Moon. The 3D globe pins itself to frame Earth and Moon together and draws the DE→Moon→DX legs — solid in each station's colour while that end can see the Moon, dashed red below the horizon. The rail shows Moon Now (azimuth/elevation, rise/set, distance, path-loss delta, declination, phase at both ends), Sky Tracks, a 48-hour Mutual Windows table with a minimum-elevation filter, a DX target with grid lock, and EME Spots from the cluster. Live activity comes from a band-wide PSK Reporter feed of Q65 and JT65 reports at 50 MHz and up, plotted on the globe as station dots with faint sender→Moon→receiver legs.
🛰️ Satellite Relay Mode — Experimental
Flip the MOON/SAT switch in the EME header and the same chassis works a bird instead: only the chosen satellite and its footprint are drawn, legs run DE→satellite→DX, and the rail ranks candidate relay satellites by their next mutual pass, shows live az/el/range for both ends with Doppler at DE, and lists 24 hours of mutual passes with per-station AOS and LOS. Verified against an ISS-like orbit; not yet caught on a live pass with real SatNOGS transmitter data, hence the label.
📻 Band Openings by CQ Zone (#1191)
"EU → NA open" is true on the East Coast and useless on the West Coast. The server now keys the same RBN and cluster surge detection by the CQ zone of the stations doing the hearing, alongside the continent view, and Settings → Alerts → Band Openings grew a Scope: My CQ zone (the new default — read from your callsign, override it if your prefix lies about where you live), My continent, or Worldwide as before. Alerts read "20m opening EU→zone 3 (12 spots, 4x baseline)". Per-zone thresholds match the continent ones for now; they'll be tuned on real data. Suggested by Mike Bass, N7WLC.
📡 APRS: Dwell Time, Survives a Refresh, Clear Button (#1190)
Stations heard over RF through your TNC used to live only in the browser's memory — one refresh and every symbol was gone. RF and internet stations are now retained in browser storage and come straight back on reload. A Dwell setting (30 minutes to 12 hours, default 60) decides how long a station lingers after it was last heard, even past the server's own one-hour cache. A Clear button flushes the map and list on demand; cleared stations stay gone until they beacon again. Both controls sit on the APRS panel and in the EmComm Stations header. Requested by mbrun-plm.

A Panels row at the top of the EmComm sidebar offers Remember (the default — each section comes back the way you left it, across layout switches and reloads), Expanded, or Collapsed as the starting state, plus Expand all / Collapse all. Requested by mbrun-plm.
🎯 A Locate Ring You Can Actually See (#1189)
The click-to-locate pulse ring was drawn in the theme's cyan, which vanished on light and satellite basemaps. It is now a white core with a dark halo and a magenta glow, independent of the theme, and starts outside the marker instead of hiding behind it. Requested by mbrun-plm.
📖 The Manual Got Pictures
The built-in manual (Settings → Help) is illustrated throughout with current screenshots, and the in-app renderer learned images and galleries. The screenshots ship inside the app, so they work offline.
🎅 Santa Tracker
On 24–25 December UTC the 3D globe and the flat map track Santa along a NORAD-style westward route with about 120 stops. Add ?santa=1 to the URL for a preview any day of the year (?santa=off puts it away).
🍁 CANParks Retired
The CANParks program has shut down and its API is gone, so the program, its map layer, panel tab, filters, alerts and the POTA cross-reference chip have been removed.
🔒 Security Updates & Fixes
All 64 open Dependabot alerts across the five packages cleared (in-range audit fixes, Vitest 4, Electron 41 for the desktop wrapper, a qs override wherever Express 4 pins the old one). The server's startup banner is no longer cut short by the log rate limiter. The OpenHamClock cluster node's DX Summit poller is now opt-in.
