September monthly drop, and it's a big one: OpenHamClock has a 3D globe.
🌍 Headline
A third projection joins Flat and Azimuthal — a true WebGL Earth with great-circle arcs, a shader-driven day/night terminator, and satellites orbiting at real altitude with their telemetry window and pass predictions. Auto-rotates until you grab it, renders on demand so a motionless globe costs a Pi almost nothing, and the three.js engine loads only when you first click 3D. Built by Koen ON9PK (@KoenVdH) from first pitch to flagship feature in under two weeks and three review rounds.
🗺️ Basemap change (action optional)
CARTO began watermarking their free tiles on Aug 26 (#1162), so Dark and Streets now default to Esri equivalents — no key needed, saved configs migrate automatically. Want the CARTO look back? Free key at carto.com/basemaps/apikey → paste into Settings → Integrations → CARTO Basemap Key. The key stays in your browser only.
