Hotfix for this week's reports. Cloud Relay users: update Rig Bridge to 2.4.0 and reconnect Cloud Relay once (see below) to keep PTT over the relay.
🌐 FIX: Clicking the map moves DX again with CQ / ITU Zones on
With the CQ / ITU Zones layer on, every click on the map landed inside a zone and opened that zone's popup, which swallowed the click, so the DX marker never moved. Zone names and numbers now show when you hover, and a click sets DX as usual. Reported by Scott.
🛰 FIX: Satellite tracks you can actually see
Tracks for satellites you have not selected were a 1-pixel line at 15% opacity; they are now thicker and about three times as bright. Click a satellite (the ISS, say) to select it for the full bright track and footprint. Reported by Ed, N4ENT.
🏠 FIX: APRS shelter reports and messages (#1230, #1231, #1235, #1236)
- The optional APRS precision extension the aprs.fi app adds (e.g.
!w\z!) is no longer shown as text (#1235). - Resource tags in any case (
[BEDS 12/20],[WATER 100]) are recognised, and badges show their name (#1236). - Retransmitted messages are logged once and no longer re-run net check-ins (#1230).
- The EmComm only button is no longer clipped on a narrow sidebar (#1231).
All reported by Michael, KE8PLM.
🔐 Cloud Relay: signed commands, private reads — reconnect once (#1228)
Connect Cloud Relay now creates a command key that goes from your browser straight to Rig Bridge and never to the server. Rig Bridge only tunes, keys or transmits for commands signed with it, and only your browser can read your rig state, decodes, APRS, MeshCom and WSJT-X data through the relay.
If you paired before this update: update Rig Bridge to 2.4.0, then in Settings → Rig Bridge press Disconnect, then Connect Cloud Relay, and paste the new settings into Rig Bridge. Until you do, PTT and transmit over the relay stay off; tuning and reading keep working until 31 January 2027.
Also fixed: Rig Bridge could poll the relay thousands of times a second after a server restart or an idle hour; it now backs off and recovers. Restarting the relay no longer piles up duplicate subscriptions. Thanks to adamancini.
🗺️ APRS switches in Settings, WSJT-X port sharing (#1224)
Settings → Map Layers → Amateur Radio now has APRS Stations and APRS Callsign Labels switches. Rig Bridge shares the WSJT-X UDP port with GridTracker, Log4OM and other listeners instead of claiming it. Thanks to adamancini.
🔧 update.sh repairs a half-finished update (#1227)
If an update was cut off part way (dropped SSH session, a small Pi out of memory during the build), update.sh now notices even when there is nothing new to pull and offers to reinstall and rebuild; the automatic updater does it by itself, and ./scripts/update.sh --repair forces it. The change list also prints without a pager.
🩹 FIX: First run, Winlink, globe dots, telemetry, version badge
- Settings opens on a first visit again, and touch devices get Compact / Tablet again.
- The Winlink panel no longer sits on "Loading..." forever when the server cannot answer.
- 3D globe station dots stay sharp when zoomed in (#1234).
- The rotator panel no longer breaks a React hook rule.
- APRS telemetry is stored again (broken since a parser rewrite).
- N3FJP QSOs without a grid are placed by callsign lookup again.
- A satellite data error no longer hides its own message.
- The version badge no longer shows the previous version for up to an hour after an update.
