use the list of cartridges that can be obtained via the cartridge api also for generic cartridges, this removes all hardcoded special cases from the UI. leaving a bunch of no more used things in comments for now, as this will need even more cleanup anyway, and these things serve as a reminder when something doesn't work as intended.
