Watch a Live Stream as it is being archived
A new setting in Admin>Settings enables a new feature that lets you watch the live stream as it is being archived. When enabling this feature one of two things happen:
- If you are archiving in MP4 format (default), ffmpeg also saves the stream temporarily in HLS format.
- This means double the storage space is required for live streams as both the MP4 and temporarily the HLS stream is being saved. The temporary HLS stream is deleted after the archive completes.
- If you are archiving as HLS then this works out of the box
When archiving you can click the video card to watch the live stream. The video page is a minimal version without chat. Chat is not supported and likely never will be.
