XPSemu Update 2.1

Up to 4 players

  • Every signed-in PS5 user's controller (or a guest's) now works in games. Before, only the first controller was seen.
  • Players 2-4 are plugged in within 2 seconds of signing in, even during a game, and unplugged when they sign out.
  • Only player 1 controls XPSemu's menus; the other controllers are for the games.

Game language (#10)

  • New setting: Settings > Interface > Game language (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese).
  • Games that include that language now start in it. Before, every game started in English.

Saves

  • Saves are no longer lost when you leave a game. XPSemu now lets the Xbox finish writing before it stops the game.
  • Broken saves are repaired automatically. A save cut off while it was being made could stop a game from saving at all.
  • A backup of every change is kept in /data/xemu/save-repair/.
  • While the game finishes saving, the Now Playing bar burns away, and you can keep using the menu.

Fixes

  • Crash after 15-20 minutes in streaming games like Ninja Gaiden Black (#7).
  • Crash when a game makes lots of new shaders.
  • The Xbox hard disk survives a crash or closing XPSemu from the PS5 home screen. Before, games could hang on loading until xbox_hdd.qcow2 was deleted.
  • Far fewer graphics pipelines built, so fewer hitches in effect-heavy scenes.
  • No needless ~8 MB cache save every time you leave a game.
