✨ Stremio Shell (Desktop) 5.0.16

• Stremio Shell build to work with latest stremio-web using fixed web ui

📦 Installation

1. Using the Installer: Download Stremio-5.0.16-x64.exe and run it.

⏳ Note: Preferably use x64 as this improves player limits especially on high end system. Only use x86 if u are sure what u are doing.

1. Using the Portable-Archive: Download Stremio-5.0.16-x64.7z extract it and run stremio.exe

⏳ Note: This build is fully portable and includes WebView2 - First start takes ~20 Seconds as portable browser has to be setup as well.

🚀 Changelog

• Added FSR Shader. Can be toggled via CTRL+7
• Added proper Browser Extension support. Browser extensions, if supported, are now listed under Addons in the Settings like any other Addon.
• Fixed Facebook login not working
• Fixed quitting via tray menu not saving window size and position
• Fixed many mpv commands making ui unresponsive. Now mpv commands are multi threaded.
• Fixed volume on start always being 50 and not saving the current volume.
• Fixed stuck on splash screen, mostly.
• Switched Web Ui server to https://stremio.zarg.me for better performance
• Github.io and official Web Ui server as fallbacks.

• Fixed hardware decoding toggle being disabled. Now hwdec works as expected.

• Added mpv specific controls on settings page.

• Advanced Subtitle Support:
  • Now any number of Default Subtitle Languages and Audio Languages can be selected. Order of selection is the priority.
  • External Subtitles are now loaded by mpv instead. Allowing for full mpv styling on any subtitles.
    • Note: To see how to style subtitles using mpv see this. These options will later be available through the ui.
  • Added allowed Subtitles and Audio Languages to allow for only showing specific languages
    • Note: Allowed Subtitles can fail if language codes are not properly specified by the subtitles. E.g. enm (English, Middle (1100–1500)) instead of en for English
  • Added toggle for rememberTrackSelection as now auto selection is even better.
  • Added subtitlePriorityKeywords. Allows to prioritizes Subtitles with specific keywords.
  • Fixed Language Selection in settings not being sorted Alphabetically. Now the languages are sorted alphabetically by their English names.

⚠️ Note: This is a big update and for a bug free experience requires portable_config and cache (stremio.exe.WebView2) to be wiped. Installer will notify about this and backup portable_config.
