Settings that are easier to find
- Organize launcher settings into seven categories: General, Graphics, Sound, Controls, Motion input, Avatar models, and Game files.
- Place Window resolution and Rendering resolution together under Graphics > Resolution, with explanations of how output size differs from internal rendering quality.
- Keep each player's input source, controller selection and bindings together. Camera/Kinect options and Avatar model selection have their own categories.
- Preserve existing saved settings. Resetting to defaults also refreshes the launcher interface language immediately.
Game language and regional compatibility
- Add General > Game language with System language, English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish and Italian. This selects the game's existing language assets independently of the launcher language (Issue #22).
- Fix startup stopping with
native-countrywhen the host region has no supported Xbox mapping (Issue #24). Unsupported/unavailable countries now fall back to US, and unsupported system languages fall back to English. The original values and fallback warnings remain in the log; the separate game-region setting is unchanged.
Downloads and updating
| Download | Support |
|---|---|
| Windows x64 ZIP | Windows 10/11; Vulkan or D3D12; webcam models and ONNX Runtime included; real Kinect requires its SDK |
| Linux x64 tar.gz | Vulkan; camera motion inference is not enabled in this prebuilt package |
| Android arm64 APK | Android 9+; Vulkan; camera motion inference is not enabled in this prebuilt package |
Extract the complete desktop archive into a fresh folder. Use the included ABI 9 shaders.pack with these executables, and keep the Windows D3D12/, shader-tools/, pose/ folders and DLLs. Copy your existing settings.ini and save/ if needed. Game data, personal models, settings and saves are not included.
Android is 0.4.2, version code 12, signed with the same certificate as v0.4.1 for in-place updates. SHA256SUMS.txt covers all four packages.
Validation and limitations
- GitHub CI passed Windows, Linux, macOS build checks and Android launcher/camera probes.
- Local regressions: 116 Windows C++ tests, 110 Linux C++ tests, and 266 Python tests (11 skipped).
- Game startup checked with all six manual language choices and System language; Spanish title text was visually verified. Unsupported host language/country fallback was also tested on Linux.
- The extracted Windows archive passed startup on Vulkan and D3D12 at 1080p internal resolution. The extracted Linux archive passed startup using WSL software Vulkan; this does not establish native Linux hardware GPU performance.
- The exact extracted Windows runtime also reached 1P gameplay on both Vulkan and D3D12, running 11,500 presents per backend with fresh shader caches, a copied local test save, audio enabled and the normal 60 FPS cap. Both stopped at the intentional frame limit without shader translation failures; gameplay screenshots were checked.
- All packages contain the same rebuilt shader pack: 476 DXIL and 476 SPIR-V shaders. Android native binaries, version metadata, alignment, package contents and update certificate are verified; Android gameplay has not been tested for this release.
- Camera, Kinect, 2P and VRM remain available with their existing platform limitations. This release does not include new physical-hardware gameplay validation for those input modes or low-end-device performance measurements.
