Changes
- Tilt to lean (#247). On Android and iOS, a new switch Launcher › Controls › Touch › Tilt to lean leans the board forward and back as you tip the phone. It is off by default.
- Forward: tip the top edge away from you (the screen turning towards the sky), like pushing the stick up.
- Back: tip it towards you to lean back.
- Neutral: the angle you hold the phone at when a race starts is the neutral one. Small drifts within 5° follow your grip; a held lean fades only slowly. Full lean is at 25°, the same as steering.
- Controls: it works alongside Tilt to steer and only in races. Touching the on-screen stick takes over.
- Jumps: the lean pauses while A is held and for half a second after, so it doesn't turn a jump into a trick. A board that rolls off a ramp edge without A can still start a small trick from the lean.
Everything else is the same as v0.10.23.
Validation
- AYN Thor, this release's APK:
- Dolphin Resort at full speed (0.999, 60 fps), all 455 pipelines prepared.
- A second race with Tilt to lean on: the accelerometer opened, the neutral angle was taken at the start, and the race ran at full speed.
- The tilting itself wasn't tried: no one can tip the device remotely. The angle maths is covered by unit tests.
- Windows x64 package, Vulkan, with the validation layer: a whole race, no validation errors, all 455 pipelines.
- macOS (M1) package: a whole Dolphin Resort race at full speed.
- Unit tests: 170 passed on Linux, including new tilt-lean and settings tests. GitHub Actions builds and tests passed on Windows, Linux, macOS and Android.
