Changes
- Linux launcher on Fedora (#232). On Fedora 45 the launcher crashed right after starting ("error creating texture", then a segmentation fault).
- Cause: Fedora's default Chinese font (
NotoSansCJK-VF.ttc) uses a format the launcher's font reader can't read (CFF2), so the whole font set failed to build. - Fonts now:
- The launcher checks each font before using it and skips unreadable ones; on Fedora it then finds another Chinese font, so Chinese still works.
- If no readable Chinese font is installed, it shows English.
- If the fonts still don't fit: it tries smaller font sets, then the built-in font, then software drawing. If even that fails, it shows a message instead of crashing.
- Cause: Fedora's default Chinese font (
- The game window comes to the front on Windows (#229, by knuckleslee). When the game opens after the launcher, its window no longer stays hidden behind other windows.
Everything else is the same as v0.10.16.
Validation
- Fedora 45: tested in a Fedora 45 environment (sdl2-compat 2.32, SDL3 3.4, Mesa 26.2):
- v0.10.16 crashed exactly as reported;
- this fix starts with Chinese text (another Chinese font found), or in English when only the unreadable font is installed;
- forced texture failures fell back step by step without crashing.
- Linux launcher from this release's package: starts and draws (Ubuntu, OpenGL).
- Not tested: real Fedora hardware with an Intel GPU and KDE.
- Windows x64 package, Vulkan, with the validation layer: a whole race, no validation errors, all 455 pipelines.
- AYN Thor, this release's APK: Dolphin Resort at full speed (0.999, 60 fps), all 455 pipelines prepared.
- Unit tests: 160 passed on Linux. GitHub Actions builds and tests passed on Windows, Linux, macOS and Android.
