JSMmaker2 2.4.9
Setup Manager 1.4.7 support, full key coverage, a rewritten validator and a faster, cleaner interface.
Requires macOS 26 or later.
Setup Manager 1.4.7
- New target 1.4.7+, selected by default at login (Settings can restore the last choice instead).
- Six new localizations: Chinese (Simplified, Traditional, Taiwan), Korean, Finnish, Portuguese (Portugal). Danish and Japanese added too. 21 languages in total, offered according to the selected target.
- Single-language mode no longer asks for a language: plain strings are not localized by Setup Manager.
Every Setup Manager key, in and out
JSMmaker2 now reads, edits and writes all the keys documented in ConfigurationProfile.md:
computerNameTemplate: rename the Mac without prompting (COMPANY-%serial%), with token helpers and a live example. User entry tokens are only offered when the matching field is collected.enrollmentUserID($EMAIL), required forshowForUserIDs.hideActionLabels,hideDebugLabel,overrideSerialNumber,networkQualityCheck,totalDownloadBytes,actionOutputLogging.- User Entry
defaultvalues, localizeddefaultandplaceholder, localized validation messages. - Help title, message and URL localized at export; localized Network Check labels.
- Per-action icon with a dark variant; per-action
tileColorwith a dark variant;##clear. - Policy action “Recurring Check-in” (empty trigger).
simulateMDMis now written as a string, as Setup Manager expects.- The non-standard
actionColorkey is no longer written. - Import of plist and mobileconfig keeps everything above, plus legacy
userID,finalCountdown, dictionary icons and the webhooksDEBUGflag. Export → import → export now gives an identical file.
Triggers are never replaced silently
A missing or deleted Jamf trigger used to be swapped for the first available one. It now stays visible as “Unknown trigger: …” in the picker, and Validate reports an error until it is fixed. New actions start with no trigger selected.
Validate, rewritten
Errors, warnings and tips for every key: unknown triggers and Installomator labels, substitution tokens, color syntax, image sources, absolute paths, regular expressions, Jamf Pro-only keys in Jamf School mode, keys not supported by the selected target, languages not available for the target, missing translations, finalAction = none without a finished script or trigger, User Entry fields without content, Department and Building options unknown to Jamf Pro, webhook URLs and network hosts. A missing background stays a warning.
Import audit
Department and Building options imported from a profile are no longer overwritten by the Jamf Pro lists. Options unknown to your console are flagged after import and in the User Entry tab, with “Replace with Jamf Pro values” or “Add missing”.
Interface
- New Cards look with clearer fields and a focus highlight; Classic and Liquid Glass styles available in Settings.
- Typing is fluid again: the live plist preview and its highlighting are refreshed 350 ms after the last change instead of on every keystroke.
- Fixed-width language tags in front of every per-language field, so columns stay aligned for
fras well aszh-Hans. - User Entry tab: the field list appears once User Entry is enabled; the plist fragment preview is gone (the live panel already shows it).
- Final Preview window: a toolbar above the rendering with the language picker (works with 21 languages), the Light/Dark switch and the Close button;
hideActionLabelsand##clearare simulated. - New application and project file icons.
Fixes
- The project file icon was never embedded in the app; it is now.
- Help validation was checking the main title and message instead of the help texts.
- The User Entry preview showed a top-level
waitForUserEntrykey that does not exist. - Accent color no longer defaults to black; empty means system blue.
- Languages added in Setup Manager 1.4.2 were gated behind the wrong target.
Upgrade notes
- Projects saved with 2.4.8 open unchanged. Fields that were replaced by Jamf Pro lists in earlier versions are now kept as saved.
- Review the Validate report once after opening an older project: several situations that used to pass silently are now reported.
