Configurable POI search radius
The POI overlay's proximity filter was hardcoded to 500 m, which is too tight on rural routes where charging stations, repair shops or toilets are sparser. The card editor now offers a POI-radius dropdown analogous to the Wikipedia one:
- 500 m
- 1 km (new default, was 500 m before)
- 2 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
Stored as `poi_radius_m` in the card YAML. Changing it in the editor immediately re-fetches POIs when the layer is active. The localStorage cache is keyed per-radius so different cards with different radii don't interfere.
Three things scale with the configured radius:
- Bbox padding for the Overpass query
- Proximity filter (POIs farther than the radius are dropped)
- Route sample interval (radius / 2, so coverage stays gap-free)
Note on the previous default
v1.6.0–v1.8.1 used a 500 m default. If you saw too few POIs on rural rides, set it to 2 km or 5 km via the editor.
Installation
Update via HACS, restart Home Assistant, hard-refresh the browser.
