Cheeky Foveated DLSS v0.6.3 + D3D12 output-size fixes (unofficial fork build)

This is Cheeky Foveated DLSS v0.6.3 with two related fixes, made for Assetto Corsa EVO with ace-quadview's Quad View Foveated Rendering. Everything else is unchanged from v0.6.3.

What's fixed

  • Outer views shrunk inside their area ("picture in picture") in quad views. Some games run several DLSS features of different sizes through one shared settings bag, so the output size in it is whatever the game set last. Cheeky already corrects this on its regular D3D12 routes, but not on the EvaluateFeature_C route that NVIDIA's NGX_D3D12_EVALUATE_DLSS_EXT helper uses. Assetto Corsa EVO uses that route, so Cheeky's quad mode composed its outer-view DLAA at the focus view's size. The _C route now uses each feature's real (created) output size, like the other routes, and restores the game's values afterwards.
  • New in ace.2: the same symptom at launch, depending on timing. That correction needs each feature's real size, recorded when the feature is created. With Cheeky's lower hook path (the default), the recording waits for a hook on nvngx_dlss.dll that is installed about 1.5 s after the DLL loads. Assetto Corsa EVO creates its DLSS features within that window, so their sizes were never recorded and the outer views could still appear shrunk. Cheeky now records the size at creation on the core route too.
  • Ordinary stereo games, where both eyes are the same size, already had the right values, so they behave as before.
  • Replaces v0.6.3-ace.1, which has only the first fix.

Downloads

  • CheekyFoveatedDLSS-0.6.3-Standalone-ace.2.zip: the Standalone package (loaders, host, runtime, Vulkan layer).
  • The OpenXR layer is unchanged: use CheekyOpenXRSetup.exe from the official v0.6.3 release. It isn't included here.

Using it with ace-quadview

ace-quadview loads Cheeky's runtime itself, so you don't need Cheeky's dxgi.dll loader. Point ace-quadview's [cheeky] runtime= at the CheekyFoveatedDLSS\CheekyFoveatedDLSSRuntime.dll from this ZIP, and install Cheeky's OpenXR layer from the official release.

Testing

  • Assetto Corsa EVO, D3D12, Pimax, ace-quadview QVFR with DLSS and Cheeky's quad mode (manual roles, outer-view DLAA at 0.75): all four views correct, outer and focus views line up, including launches where the features are created before the lower hook.
  • Cheeky's test suite: 269–276 test cases pass across runs. CheekyOpenXRBindingTests --fg-gpu-validation and --fg-shader11 and CheekyCoreDiscoveryTests dx11-ota fail identically on unmodified v0.6.3 on the build machine. CheekyOverlayTests failed once while the game had focus (it reads the live keyboard for F8) and doesn't compile the changed file.

Built from commit 547a5c5 on fix-d3d12-c-evaluate-extent (also ClarkCheekyKent/CheekyFoveatedDLSS#76). Cheeky Foveated DLSS is GPL v3 (see licenses/ in the ZIP); credit to ClarkCheekyKent.
